Project Urban Cowboy Bathroom Basics

Every design project has a spring board, an element that is the inspiration from which everything else develops.  In the #ProjectUrbanCowboy master en-suite, that jumping off point was the matte black fixtures.  Sleek and modern, I was thrilled when my clients agreed to them.  In particular the wall mounted faucets, which offer a clean and crisp look to the vanity.  But unlike deck mounted faucets, wall mounted faucets require significant more forethought and planning.  Given their popularity, I thought I would break down the basics of designing around them for you.

I love a white, bright space just as much as the next designer.  But lately, I find myself craving a little more colour on the walls.  It might be because the 2019 paint trends are right up my alley.  Inspired by nature, tones of stone, earth, forest and sky reign supreme.  The overall affect is a soothing and elegant palette that works in everything from kitchens to bedrooms to bathroom.  I’m sharing some of my favourites below.

There are only a few things I love more than brunch – my family and friends, design, travel … but then, it’s definitely brunch.  I’ve often joked that if I do ever get married, I’ll serve brunch at the reception!

Why the intense love for Brunch? It always feels a bit classy and special – the bubbles probably have something to do with that 😉 The food options are literally doubled – breakfast and lunch to choose from, depending on the mood. And it usually lingers into the early afternoon. Rarely is anyone ever in a hurry to leave.

Pantone Colour of the Year 2018

Every year in December, Pantone, the world-wide authority on colour announces the next years colour of the year. And every year it’s met with mixed reactions. The pantone colour of the year 2018 was no different – Ultra Violet, a blue-based purple, was met with surprise, excitement and in some cases passionate disapproval.
