2021 Colours of the Year
There are a few things that always mark the start of a new year … a fresh day timer, new set of goals and a new selection of colours of the year. While I can’t say my design decisions are overly impacted by the colour announcements, I do love seeing what everyone is forecasting. The chosen colours are often reflective of the what we’ve experienced in the previous year and the hope for the future. After a year like 2020, I think the selections for 2021 are especially hopeful and inspiring. Scroll through and let me know your favourite!
Pantone
Benjamin Moore
Intriguing, balanced, and deeply soothing, the Benjamin Moore Colour of the Year 2021, Aegean Teal 2136-40, creates natural harmony. Encouraging us to take a moment to reflect and reset.
Sherwin Williams
Tap into nature with a hue whose warmth and comfort breathe down-to-earth tranquility. Sherwin Williams 2021 Color of the Year, Urbane Bronze, captures that simple sophistication every space is searching for.
Behr
Escapism, the outdoors, and timelessness were guiding influences in Behr’s 2021 Colour Trends.
Graham and Brown
A proud, regal and luxurious purple hue, Epoch is described as a ‘directional shade of plum.’ Calming and cocooning, the colour contemplates the passing of time and embraces the opportunity to recharge, reflect and rediscover history.
Farrow & Ball
Farrow & Ball’s 2021 colour trends reflect our recent collective journey – towards more time spent indoors, emphasis on sanctuary, and the need for rooms that enhance our well-being. ‘These thoughtful choices convey a sense of ease and familiarity and are a result of wanting to find calm within the chaos of our turbulent world. We want our homes to be places not just for rest and recovery, but also for rejuvenation and inspiration.’
