Interior Trend: Botanicals

Spring has finally sprung in Calgary!  Which has me thinking about lightening things up and bringing the outdoors in.  If like me you lack a green thumb, this trend in interior design is for you: Botanicals.  From art to pillows to bedding, there are no shortage of options.  I’ve pulled some of my favorites below.

One of the easiest and most common ways of incorporating botanicals into a space is through prints.  There is something especially charming about antique prints, while black and white work well for modern and contemporary spaces.

While I love the look and feel of white bedding, a whimsical guest room with a botanical print could create a fun retreat.  Again a black and white version would be a subtler option.

If you’re really feeling bold about bringing botanicals into your space, a wallpaper like this stunner inspired by botanical illustrations from the 19th century University of Oxford’s curator, William Baxter, would do just that.  Fritillary, honeysuckle, campular flowers, oh my!  Too much? A black and white palm leave print creates an incredibly chic and dramatic effect.

Wow, everything looks fab! It might have been too late for the new year, but I’m planning to redecorate the whole house. Well, design enthusiasts don’t need new year to give a new look to their home. These botanical trends are perfect for gathering ideas. Thank you so much for posting this, Neelam. Looking forward to seeing more from your blog.
